READING
Grade 5 – We are starting the year by reviewing how to respond to literature questions, how to attack vocabulary, and what skills for grade 7/8 we need to cover. We are reading a short story called "The Monkey's Paw" and refining are critical thinking.
Grade 4 – We are starting the year by reviewing how to respond to literature questions, how to attack vocabulary, and what skills for grade 6 do we need to cover. We are now reading a non-fiction piece called "The systems of the Human Body" and learning the skills related to non-fiction.
Grade 3 – We are starting the year slowly and learning how to respond to literature questions, how to attack vocabulary, learning what skills need to be covered, and how to handle coming to a different reading class. All of our work will be at the 5th grade level. We are now reading a non-fiction piece called "Graphic Ice Cream". We will refine our non-fiction and critical thinking skills.

Grade 5 – We continue to work on our fact fluency. We have done a few geometry and measurement small projects. We will begin our large unit on fractions/decimals/and percents.
Grade 4 – We continue to work on our fact fluency. We have also completed a few small projects related to geometry and measurement. We are now working on a unit that is dedicated to standard measurement.
Grade 3 - We continue to work on our fact fluency (especially multiplication ). We are still working on the unit of Geometry and digging deep. We will then head into measurement. ______________________________________________ _________________________________
ENRICHMENT MODULES
Tuesday - Calling all doctors!!! Project D.O.S.E. will help us learn the process of diagnosing and treating a medical condition.
Thursday – For those of us who like to learn about different cultures, we will be learning about Japan: The Land of Mystery.
