Students in Kindergarten toured the garden, turned over the soil in the beds, and worked together to create the rules of the HDE garden. The 5th grade students measured the beds to lay out the guiding string. They finished so quickly that they had time to help pop out scallions, parsley, and cilantro seedlings for the 4th grade to plant. After lunch, students in grades 1-3 planted spinach, strawberries, red and green cabbage, golden and red beets, kale, broccoli, romaine and butterhead lettuce seedlings as well as carrot and radish seeds.
