Summer Reading Assignments

  • 11th grade AP Language and Composition

The district is encouraging students to read 3-4 books during the summer. For students entering AP Language and Composition, we ask that students select as one of their choices a nonfiction text that deals with a current social issue. Your book may be a biography, autobiography, memoir, an expository text, or an extended argument. Current social issues can really be anything that affects the larger population of the United States or pockets of the American population. Your self-selected, nonfiction text will be a springboard for class discussions and for further inquiry during the first marking period of the 24-25 school year.
