Spring sports begin during the first week of March and run through mid to late May. Weather and field conditions will dictate the exact start date for each sport.
All first-time athletes must have a PIAA physical dated after 1 June 2019. All athletes who have participated in a previous sport must have page 7 of the PIAA physical filled out and signed by a parent. No athlete will be able to try out or participate in any sport without the proper physical exam documents. The Middle School Code of Conduct must also be read and signed before beginning any after school activity.
Athletes are to upload their PIAA physical and Page 7 (if necessary) to Family ID. Refer to the main page of the athletics website for clarification. Do not turn physicals into the office or to the homeroom teacher or to the main office.
Spring sports consist of 7th and 8th-grade teams in the following:
Baseball: Head Coach, Mr. Andy Logan, Asst Coach, Mr. Don Kelley
Girls Lacrosse: Head Coach Ms. Courtney Chavaria and Mrs. Mara Cherubino
Softball: Head Coach Mr Jim Ascareggi, Asst Coach Mr Gerald Busz
Track: Mr. Andrew White, Mr. Chritian Specht, Mr. Gary Pester, Mrs. Jill Laverty is a combined 7th and 8th-grade team.
- Boys Lacrosse: Mr. Anthony Froio and Mr. John Graham
Track does not conduct tryouts. Please impress upon your children tostrong>pay attention to the morning and afternoon announcements for updates. Tennis is a club sport offered at Rustin H.S. The tennis program will be conducted during early May and will run every Monday /Wednesday and Tuesday / Thursday afternoon until mid-June. The sessions will last from 3:15 until 4:45.
