All faculty and parents/guardians of East students are members of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  Parental support, both volunteer and financial, enables the PTO to achieve our mission of helping West Chester East excel

Donations:  Make a donation to the PTO by using the PayPal link or by sending in a check to the address listed on our PTO webpage.

SAT/ACT Prep Class:  You can also register your student for an SAT or ACT Prep Class.

Volunteering:   Signing up as a volunteer does not commit you to anything right away. You will receive occasional emails when help is needed.  Opportunities may include: contributing food for teacher appreciation events, assisting with grade specific events, and helping with Post Prom. 

PTO Mission Statement

To enhance the learning environment of West Chester East High School by providing materials and activities that will enrich the experience of high school for all of our students.

The PTO sponsored programs include:

• Teacher Mini Grant Program: Annually, all East staff members are encouraged to apply for PTO grants and the possibility to receive funding for special projects. The purpose of these grants is to extend opportunities beyond allocations provided through the District. In the last 5 years, over $50,000 has been granted to teachers, counselors, and staff. Some of the most recent grants have been for:
  • Weather Station for the school
  • Standing desks for Math, English, Social Studies and Language classrooms
  • Provisions for a Behavioral Support room
  • Sanders for Woodworking and Materials Class
  • New cameras for the Art Department
  • Buzzers for the Academic Team
  • Heart Rate Monitors for Phys Ed
    
    
• Viking with Pride Award: A twice-yearly award (in the form of a gift card) which recognizes students who demonstrate the ideals of character and commitment that exemplify the spirit of East High School
  
  
• Richard Dunlap Service Scholarship: Two $1000 scholarships are given to Seniors who demonstrate outstanding volunteer service to East High School and/or our surrounding community
  
  
• Teacher Recognition Programs and Hospitality Events: Including the staff buffet for Open House, the Sweet Treat table in December and breakfast during Teacher Appreciation Week
  
  
• Water Ice for the Water Nice student bonding program
  
  
• Post Prom Event: The PTO sponsors this much anticipated, all night, free admission event provided immediately following the Senior Prom for the safety of our students
  
  
• “Stress Free Fridays” program funding: A weekly Guidance Department Event designed to help students decompress. Some examples: yoga classes, Main Line Animal Rescue canine visits, and bananas for Banana Day
