- How the Counseling Department Supports 12th Graders
-
Counselors meet with the senior class within the first two weeks of school to focus on post-secondary planning. Time sensitive topics including the college application process, financial aid, NCAA requirements, and information on college entrance exams are explained to seniors via a large group presentation and written materials (Schoology). The weeks following the senior class meeting are designated for individual senior conferences. Each counselor meets with their students individually to discuss plans for post-graduation.
Parents are strongly encouraged to attend this conference with students.
Topics covered in the individual conference include:
- Transcript review: credits, GPA, activities, and remaining graduation requirements
- Post-Secondary plans: College, Career & Technical Training, Military, Work, etc.
- SAT/ACT scores and submission to colleges, or Test-Optional options
- Scholarships and Financial Aid resources
Seniors have access to this and much more via their EHS Post-Secondary Planning Schoology Course
