Ski Club FAQS

  • This page is designed to answer some frequently asked questions by both parents and students!

Q: I have my own season pass, a 4/6 session pass, or a lift ticket on my own. Can I still go with the ski club?

A: ABSOLUTELY! Just sign up for bus only!! You can use your own lift ticket, season pass, or 4/6 session pass!

Q: Do I have to pay the WCASD activity fee to join ski club?

A: You do not! The ski club is a school affiliated club and does NOT fall under the activity fee. You need to pay the $5 membership fee to join the ski club regardless of if you have paid the activity fee or not.

Q: Do I need to purchase a 4/6 session pass to attend ski club or can I just get a lift ticket the week I want to go?

A: You do not need to purchase a session pass/season pass! You can sign up weekly for a lift ticket. We realize not everyone can attend every trip.

Q: If I am paying with a check, who do I make it payable to?

    A: WCASD

    Q: Can I rent skis/a board/helmet?

A: Absolutely! Just sign up for a rental on the weekly ski club paper.

    Q: Can I take a lesson?

A: Yes!!! Bear Creek will be offering lessons on Friday evenings in January.

Q: Can I ski/board by myself? I am really good!

A: No, everyone must ski/board with at least one other person/buddy. Students usually like to ski/board with their friends and if you do not have a friend going, our ski club is really good about people just joining up. We are all there to have fun!!

Q: What happens if the trip is snowed out/canceled by the district?

A: Though it happens rarely, if the trip is snowed out, you will receive an automatic credit for the next trip and if you are not able to make that trip, you will receive a credit for a future trip.

Q: What happens if I am sick on ski trip day?

A: You get a full credit for a future trip.

Q: What happens if I forget to go on the ski trip?

A: Your lift ticket and rental money will be credited to you, but your bus money is NON REFUNDABLE! Each week we turn away, on average, 4-8 students, so it is very important if you sign up, you are there. If you are sick.... see above!

Q: What happens if I sign up and decide not to go on the trip?

A: See above, your lift ticket and rental money will be credited to you, but your bus money is NON REFUNDABLE! Each week we turn away, on average, 4-8 students, so it is very important if you sign up, you are there. We hate to turn away students because you decide at the last minute you do not want to go!

Q: What time do we leave Bear Creek to come back to Fugett?

A: 9:00 PROMPTLY! If you are late you will loose ski club privileges!

Q: What time should my parents be at Fugett to pick me up on Friday evening?

A: Parents should be at Fugett by 10:15. We are rarely late and we always have students call when we are about 15 minutes away from Fugett.

Q: Can parents go on the trips?

A: Due to space limitations, parents cannot go on our trips, but they are welcome to drive separately and take you home at the end of the night, but there is no one way bus fare.

Q: Do I bring my dinner/snacks with me?

A: You absolutely can bring a packed dinner/snacks with you. Bear Creek is a resort so the food is not cheap, but you can pack a dinner/snacks and that can help with the cost of the trip.

Q: Do I have to pay for the bus each week even if I have a pass?

A: Yes! The bus must be paid for each trip.
