Junior Post-Secondary Planning Process
-
In December, counselors will hold large group presentations for all juniors to review the college search process, SAT/ACT’s, and college and career resources available here at Henderson High School. This meeting will take place during homeroom and 1st period. A video will be shown on the college selection process and there will be time at the end of the presentation for questions. In addition, counselors will meet individually with juniors throughout the second and third marking periods for more in-depth guidance, review of their transcripts, and senior year course selections. Your student and his/her counselor will discuss post-secondary plans, tools, and resources to make the college process a smooth one. Students will learn how to research post-secondary colleges, universities, or trade/technical schools using Naviance (an online career and college guidance system) and/or will be given resources to make a seamless transition into the workforce from high school. Parents are invited to use Naviance with their junior by going to Naviance’s website and using the College and Career tabs. There will be a college planning night held in late winter/early spring for parents to review the college selection process. The exact date and time has yet to be determined. Please continue to check our website as the date draws closer.
