WCASD’s Peirce Middle School Receives PIAA Sportsmanship Award

Peirce Middle School is celebrating an exciting achievement this month, having been honored with the prestigious PIAA Sportsmanship Award for the 2023-2024 school year.

This award is a testament to the dedication and commitment of Peirce’s students, athletes, coaches, and staff, who consistently demonstrate respect, fairness, and integrity both on and off the field. The entire school community plays a role in promoting good sportsmanship and teamwork at every game and practice.

Principal Dr. Joseph DiAntonio, along with Peirce Middle School’s Athletic Director, Mr. Chris Beatty, proudly accepted the award on behalf of the school. "This recognition means so much to our school because it reflects the character and commitment of our students and coaches," said Principal DiAntonio. "We believe that true success in athletics isn’t just about winning, but about playing the game with integrity, respect, and pride in representing our community. I couldn’t be more proud of our Chargers!" Accepting the PIAA Award

The Sportsmanship Award is presented annually to schools that embody exemplary conduct, teamwork, and ethical behavior across all levels of competition. Being selected by fellow schools within District 1 makes this honor particularly meaningful, as it reflects the appreciation of Peirce’s positive sportsmanship by their peers.
