    The West Chester Area School District’s Facilities and Operations Department is a team of approximately 140 individuals who provide custodial, grounds and building maintenance, construction management and security services to eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools and two administrative buildings. Our mission is: “To provide safe, clean, healthy and energy efficient facilities conducive to providing educational programs to each of our students” across the 2.2 million square feet of building and 600 acres of property we care for daily.

    The Department has been recognized with numerous awards pertaining to facilities, including the 2011 Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials Gold Award of Excellence in School Facilities, the Indoor Air Quality Collaborative Design Challenge School District Award, 2009 Penn Futures Award, and was the first Public School District in the nation awarded a Climate Showcase Grant by the Federal Government to implement programs to increase energy efficiency in our schools and business community.
