    Session Objectives/Outcomes:  

    In this session, participants will:

    1. Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment in the WCASD community to deepen family connections and celebrate diverse voices.
    2. Offer practical strategies to promote joy, wholeness, and healing within families and the broader school district.
    3. Empower participants to appreciate and address the unique needs of diverse families and students, fostering empathy and understanding.
    4. Provide tools and resources for fostering inclusivity and unity within families and across the WCASD community.
    5. Foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration among participants, encouraging collective growth and enrichment.

    Session Description: 

    You're invited to a transformative workshop dedicated to building stronger connections among families within the West Chester Area School District (WCASD). This interactive session is centered on joy, wholeness, happiness, and healing, amplifying the voices and experiences of diverse families and students. Together, we'll delve into strategies aimed at cultivating joy across our schools and community. Every family, regardless of background or circumstance, is embraced and valued in this inclusive space. We're committed to recognizing and addressing the unique needs of our diverse community. Join us for an empowering and vibrant session where we can come together to build, learn, and grow in unity and understanding.

    Biography: 

    Dr. Donna-Marie Cole-Malott is dedicated to transformative education, serving as the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Educator Diversity Consortium (PEDC) and as an Assistant Professor of Professional & Secondary Education and Instructional Design Technology at East Stroudsburg University. Her career has seen pivotal roles, including Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Higher Education at the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and Inaugural Director of the Institute of Educational Governance and Leadership (IEGL). Dr. Cole-Malott's research focuses on the lived experiences of Black girls, advocating for educator workforce diversity, and nurturing culturally relevant educators, addressing issues of race, equity, and educator diversity with unwavering dedication. A staunch advocate, she leads efforts to dismantle systemic racism and promote equitable outcomes for all students, shaping the very fabric of public education with visionary leadership and impassioned advocacy.
