Electronic Devices
Based on PDE Policy: Electronic Device Notification Letter (En Espanol)
Beginning at least two weeks prior to the assessment dates, administrators and teachers will remind students not to bring to the testing room cell phones, cameras, or any other type of electronic device which could be disruptive and/or take a photo of the assessment.
On the day of the test, administrators and teachers will again remind students to put their cell phones or other prohibited electronic devices in their lockers or cubbies. Devices placed in cubbies must be completely turned off.
Consequences:
- The consequence for using and/or having a cell phone or other electronic device in the testing room during the test administration will result in the application of a “Do Not Score” label on the student’s test booklet.
PDE has indicated that it will hold parents/guardians fiscally responsible if test security is violated or compromised and test questions need to be replaced. - If a student has a cell phone or other prohibited electronic device in a testing room during the administration of the test, the cell phone or other prohibited electronic device will be confiscated for the remainder of the school day or until such time that the parent or guardian can come to the school.
- Violation of this protocol will result in a Level II offense according to the WCASD Discipline Handbook.
Calculator Policy
The use of calculators during state assessments is permitted in certain sections and subjects, following specific guidelines.
Code of Conduct
Maintaining a code of conduct during state assessments ensures a fair and secure testing environment for all students.
