2024 Spring Keystone Communication

  • June 10, 2024

    Dear Parents/Guardians:

The purpose of this communication is to share some important information regarding the Act 158 Graduation Requirements and Keystone Retake Opportunities.

    Pathways to Graduation (Act 158)

Pennsylvania Act 158 outlines the graduation requirements for students in the state of Pennsylvania.  According to Act 158, there will be several different pathways that students can use to graduate. Those full options are described on the district website.  Note that the Pennsylvania Department of Education expects all students to participate in each of the three Keystone Exams by the end of their 11th grade year, regardless of their Act 158 pathway.  If you are unsure about your child’s current or possible pathway to graduation, please contact their school counselor.

    Spring Keystone Scores

The scores from the Spring 2024 Keystone Exam will be released on July 18, 2024 and then will be  uploaded into the WCASD Parent Portal. If your child has taken a Keystone Exam in the past, you may find their “Best” Score on the WCASD Parent Portal found here.  There are helpful Parent Portal resources on the District website, as well as a link to assist you in retrieving your username and password.

    Keystone Retesting

We will not be offering a Keystone Testing session this summer.  However, high school students will be able to retest during the Winter and Spring testing windows of the 2024-2025 school year.    If you are interested in having your student retest, please complete the Keystone Registration form that will be available on the WCASD Assessment Webpage before each session.  Students who are retesting are encouraged to utilize the Keystone tutoring sessions available at their school.  For rising 8th grade students who wish to retake their Algebra Keystone, we recommend that they retest in the spring after they take Algebra 2.

Please contact the building assessment coordinator at your child’s school if you have questions.

    Sincerely,

    Jim Ronayne
