Microsoft Office 365
Office 365 is a subscription-based use of Microsoft Office in the cloud (application and files stored on the Internet). This will be available to teachers and students while they are part of the district. Users will be able to access Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, just to name a few, online anywhere and on any device. Teachers and students will have the ability to install full versions of Microsoft Office Plus onto as many as five devices. Office Pro Plus is available on Microsoft, Apple, and Android devices including laptops, tablets and phones. The first device will be the district laptop. The installed copies of Microsoft Office Pro will be automatically deleted from any device when the teacher or student leaves the district.
Files created in Office 365 are saved online in a storage repository called OneDrive. This OneDrive is for West Chester Area School District use only. It is not public online storage. It is important to note that anything saved to OneDrive is subject to the same policies and guidelines applicable to storage on district servers, and will be permanently deleted at the end of the teacher’s employment or student’s enrollment at West Chester Area School District.
